Cover for COVID-19?

Our specialist policy will cover Cancellation, Curtailment and Emergency Medical Expenses related to COVID-19 as well as pre-existing medical conditions

Travel insurance including COVID-19 cover

From the 5th August 2020, our policies now include the following cover in relation to COVID-19 on our Specialist HIV, Already Left UK, No Minimum Residency and Long Stay Trip products.
If you already have an existing policy purchased between 13th March 2020 and the 5th August 2020 COVID-19 claims are still fully excluded.

Trip Cancellation:

  • Cancellation cover up to £3,000 or £5,000 depending on the type and level of cover chosen.
  • Cancellation if you or a travelling companion becomes ill, injured or develops a medical condition before your trip (including being diagnosed with COVID-19) .
  • Cancellation if you or a travelling companion, specifically, are quarantined before your trip by order of a government or public authority due to suspicion that you have been exposed to COVID-19.
  • Cancellation if you have to cancel your trip as a result of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Travel Advice (FCDO), providing the directive came into force after you paid for your insurance or booked your trip.

    Trip Curtailment:

  • Curtailment cover up to £3,000 or £5,000 depending on the type and level of cover chosen.
  • Curtailment if you or a travelling companion becomes ill, injured or develops a medical condition during your trip (including being diagnosed with COVID-19)
  • Curtailment if you or a travelling companion, specifically, are quarantined during your trip by order of a government or public authority due to suspicion that you have been exposed to COVID-19.
  • Curtailment if you have to curtail your trip as a result of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Travel Advice (FCDO), providing the directive came into force after you left your home.

    Emergency Medical Expenses:

  • Emergency medical expenses covered up to £5 million or £10 million depending on the type and level of cover chosen.
  • Emergency medical expenses relating to COVID-19 covered whilst abroad.
  • Emergency medical expenses for pre-existing medical conditions are covered whilst abroad (subject to our medical screening process)

    Be aware: Our policies will not provide any cover if you travel when there is Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advice against travel to the country you are visiting.
