travel insurance pancreatitisFinding travel insurance that includes cover if you have pancreatitis can be difficult. We specialise in providing travel insurance for people with medical conditions. In fact, we receive referrals from hospitals, GPs, clinics and medical charities from all over the UK.

It is very important to ensure that any claims related to your pancreatitis are covered, especially as the condition can flare up and medical attention can sometimes be needed swiftly.

Obviously we can't guarantee to cover everyone who has pancreatitis - it will depend on your individual circumstances. We will need to ask you some questions in order to understand your particular circumstances. We will then be able to tell you if we can provide cover and, if so, what the price would be.

What are the travel insurance implications if you have pancreatitis?

Cancellation and medical costs are the two types of claims that are the most expensive.

If you've declared your pancreatitis to us and we've accepted to cover claims related to it, then if you become ill and are unable to travel, the costs you've incurred will be met.

Similarly, if you need medical attention when you're away, these will be met. If you're not properly insured, bills such as consultations, examinations, medication and nursing care can be very expensive.

If you're unable to return home on the planned date and need to remain in hospital, new travel arrangements and/or arrange extra accommodation costs will be met. This will also apply to a partner or travelling companion who has stayed with you if they're also insured with us. It is therefore very important that anyone travelling with you is covered by our policy so that any claim they need to make that could be in any way regarded as linked to your pancreatitis will be met. An 'ordinary' travel insurance might decline their claim on the same grounds as they might decline a claim made by you.

It's just not worth not having specialist travel insurance that includes cover for asthma!
