We will, therefore, need to ask you some questions about your colitis in order to get an understanding of your situation. What are the travel insurance implications if I have colitis?

Our policy is comprehensive, so you will be covered if you're unable to even start your trip, for medical reasons.

Unfortunately, colitis can flare up suddenly. However, if you've been accepted by our experienced staff who do our medical screening, you will be covered for medical consultations, examinations, treatment and nursing care. These can otherwise be very expensive.

Should you need to extend your trip because you're not well enough to travel, your policy is automatically extended and will pay for new return travel arrangements to be made. It will also pay for any extra travel and accommodation costs incurred by a partner or travelling companion who has stayed with you. It is therefore very important that anyone travelling with you is covered by our policy so that any claim they need to make that could be in any way regarded as linked to your colitis will be met. An 'ordinary' travel insurance might decline their claim on the same grounds as they might decline a claim made by you.
